You think we would have learned by now that it's absolutely silly to buy Laney new things. We got her a perfectly good cat bed and set it by the window in the new apartment so she could see what's going on outside. So far as we can tell, she sat in it once.
But any time you take a bag and put it down on a table, the ground, or pretty much anywhere else (we should try hanging one from the ceiling), Laney will plop on top of it. This trick also works with sheets of paper, especially ones with something you need written on them.

Keeping me company
The thing about working from home is that you can go for hours at a time without talking to anyone. So it's nice to have a little friend that you can stuff in a compartment on your desk that you can pull out when you need a quick bit of conversation. For the rest of the day, she sleeps.

Can you spot the cat in this photo?
Okay, she's not that hard to spot, but the second photo was just so cute I had to post it as a close-up.

Laney dances the night away
Somehow we lost Laney's cat dancer toy in the move, so I had to go out and buy a new one. It's the best $2 I've ever spent. The toy is basically just a piece of wire with some cardboard bits on the end, but it's pretty much Laney's favorite thing in the world.

Wait, do I go under L for Laney or C for Cat?
We moved from Princeton to New York recently. And for Laney this meant there were lots of cardboard boxes lying around to jump in and out of, and every now and again cabinets that had always been too full to explore were empty. Here she is checking out our filing system.
